YRB – MOT Highway 8 Emergency Reinstatement Works Phase 1

Emergency re-instatement of Highway 8 from N’kwala to Spences Bridge. Work scopes included repairs to 3 bridge approaches and reinstatement of the roadway at 20 different erosion sites. Rebuilding of road structures to MOTI specifications with placement of Rip Rap along the River to provide stabilization of the slopes. Realignment of roadways at two washouts was required, with the river being diverted and realigned in both work areas. Establishment of a Rock Quarry for the production of 82,000 Kg of Rip Rap with the placement of 78,000 Kg of Rip Rap, which was used throughout the site.
