Prince Rupert Port Authority – Road Rail Utility Corridor
Construction of 14 acres of laydown space along the Ridley Island Road, Rail, and Utility Corridor for the Port of Prince Rupert. Laydown space is located adjacent to an existing rail loop and is intended to promote intermodal shipping capacity for bulk commodities at the Port.
Scope included: 5.2 Ha clearing and grubbing, 95,000m3 of muskeg overburden excavation, 116,000m3 drilling and blasting including pre-shear wall control adjacent to active rail line, 3 of embankment fill, 50,000m3 processing and installation of 75 and 25 mm IGB, 37m of 1600mm diameter CSP culver inclusive of trench blasting and tie-in adjacent to active rail line and the installation of two new rail switches, track, and ballast.
