Prince Rupert Port Authority – Atlin Promenade
New 82.5m long x 6m wide promenade over Cow Bay in Prince Rupert. Scope of work includes; demolition and removal of existing Ice House Structure, removal of abandoned rail lines, existing concrete retaining walls and roadway. Promenade supported on 14 – 600mm diameter steel piles rock socketed into bedrock (installed marine side via pile drive on a barge). The substructure is steel framing supporting precast concrete panels and concrete topping. Roadworks include re/re of utilities as well as the construction of a new handicap-accessible concrete ramp for Cruise Ship passenger bus loading. Work includes Promenade bollard and street lighting, relocation of fibre optic line and landscaping.
