MOTI – Yellowhead Bridge Deck Joint Replacement

Replacement of existing modular and strip seal deck joints with new finger joints and drainage troughs and new strip seals and drainage troughs.  Work included; lane closure while maintaining continual two way traffic, extensive scaffolding underneath the bridge deck for access and concrete demolition debris containment, concrete demolition, removal, splicing and installation of reinforcing steel, extensive formwork to underside of deck to support cast in place concrete around new deck and finger joints, new abutment approach asphalt paving, new bridge deck drain lines and new coating to section of steel substructure.
