M’akola Development Services – Renovation and Conversion of Economy Hotel into AWAC Housing

Conversion of existing 27 unit hotel into housing for The Association Advocating for Women & Community. Scope of work included targeted asbestos abatement of the entire interior of the structure, updating 3 suites to handicap accessibility, installation of a LULA (Limited Use Limited Access) elevator, basement converted from old pool and storage into communal kitchen, offices, leased offices, hairdressing salon and laundry. Buildings systems upgrade of a new sanitary sewer lift station, building electrical service, complete plumbing upgrade, new boilers, air handling system and installation of new fire protection system. Exterior works included upgrade of water main to accommodate new fire suppression, new security fencing, new accessible main entry and minor landscaping
