Canfor – Raw Water Treatment Plant Site Prep & Concrete Foundations
Canfor’s Raw Water Treatment Plant processes up to 215 million litres per day of raw water from the Nechako River in Prince George, BC. The plant will hold 4.5 million litres of water in the various tanks. IDL completed all the civil earthworks and structural concrete works for the project
Work included: rough grading and site preparation, incoming 42” dimeter raw water supply piping and 42” diameter outgoing treated water, building mass raft slab foundations and structural concrete works for all tanks and channels, final grading and dewatering. Structural concrete works included: form, pour and place of approx. 4200m3 of non-shrink, 35MPa concrete, cast in place concrete walls up to 30′ high x 3’ thick, suspended slabs, water retaining cast in place concrete tanks, misc. embedded metals, building foundations and truck bay. Final grading around the site included overflow ponds.
