City of Prince Rupert – Landfill Expansion

High Level scope overview includes Landfill Cell Expansion, New Cell Construction, Existing Cell Closure, Construction of new Sewage & Septage Facility. Execution of work requiring:

• Clear & Grub
• Drill and blast of 178,000.00 M³ of rock in close proximity to operating facility with public access and highway
• Rock Processing of eight unique products
• Support for pre-construction and ongoing ML/ARD testing
• Construction of new landfill cell requiring drainage layer, bedding layer, HDPE & GCL lining, bedding layer, conveyance layer, and drainage layers inclusive of textile separators HDPE leachate conveyance lines, and HDPE pore-water relief lines
• Closure of Existing Landfill cell requiring construction of multi-layer cover for gas conveyance, HDPE & GCL lining, bedding, and sub-soil and top-soil cover and inclusive of gas collection and release piping as well as tie-in to existing cell HDPE lining
• Construction of new storm pond and storm piping system in requiring trench blasting, embankment construction, HDPE lining, and HDPE storm piping
• Construction of new septage facility requiring trench blasting, embankment construction, MSE wall construction, HDPE lining, cast-in-place concrete slabs and foundations, and surfacing features
• General upgrade to landfill operations roads and installation of new perimeter electric fence
