JVD Installations Inc. – Conifex Co-Generation
This project consists of a 30 megawatt wood-fired power plant located at FF1 Road, Mackenzie, British Columbia on an existing brown field paper mill site. The Project involves reusing an existing fluidized bed boiler with modifications; a new Dresser-Rand steam turbine, condenser and cooling tower; reuse of other existing systems where practical and with necessary modifications, and new equipment where necessary for a complete, functioning power plant. Project also includes, but is not limited to, shavings storage in existing silos, shavings burners in existing boiler, shavings processing and transport equipment installed in a new building extension south of the existing boiler building, new hog fuel storage building with associated fuel handling equipment and transport conveyors, modifications to existing boiler air distribution, addition of a multi-clone (multiple cyclone dust collector), modifications to the existing ash handling system, additional boiler ash collection, a new sand classification system, and all mechanical, process, electrical and control subsystems to support the operation of the existing and new equipment. Localized demolition of Areas of old pulp mill to allow for installation of new Co-Gen. Place and finish concrete for new buildings, turbine, and generator. Install 36 megawatt generator, turbine, and related equipment. Supply and install all piping required for project. Install all conveyors and erect and clad new buildings.
