MOTI – Highway 16 Terrace Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station
Construction of a new commercial vehicle inspection station (CVIS) on the south side of Highway 16 complete with weigh scale building and inspection building. Construction of a new highway intersection with associated auxiliary lanes to access the CVIS. The scope of work includes ~11 hectares of clearing and grubbing, removals of existing culverts and fencing, 8,000 m2 of cold milling and pavement removal, 82,000 m3 of stripping and Type D excavation, 30,000 m3 of roadway aggregates, on-site septic system, 256m of culverts ranging 600-900mm diameter, concrete manholes and lawn drains, 100m of HDPE catch basin leads and 575m of PVC storm pipe installations with diameters ranging 200-525mm. The scope also includes riprap ranging in size from 10kg to 50kg, 250 LM of watermain including commissioning and tie-in, supply and installation of the weigh scale building and inspection building (including foundations) and asphalt aggregate production and paving including curbs and spillways. Finishing items include concrete barriers, pavement markings, concrete curbs, sidewalks, traffic islands and concrete aprons. Electrical scope includes removals, lighting including bases, service kiosks, heat trace, block heaters, junction boxes, conduit installation and wire pulls, fibre optics including patch panels and testing, electrical/lighted signage, installation of CCTV cameras and poles, sensing equipment, scale equipment. Final items include signage, fencing and revegetative seeding.
