University of Northern British Columbia – BioEnergy Building and Infrastructure Loop
The BioEnergy Building and Infrastructure Loop project was originally a LEED Gold BioEnergy Building and achieved LEED Platinum certification.
Construction Management At Risk for the construction of LEED Platinum BioEnergy Building and Infrastructure Loop upgrade to the existing UNBC hot and cold water heating and cooling lines.
The BioEnergy Building will house equipment supplied by Nexterra. Nexterra equipment converts wood waste into syngas to produce heat.
The infrastructure loop work included the upgrade of the existing hot and cold water heating and cooling lines throughout the University. Infrastructure work included both exterior and interior works.
IDL was charged with all budgeting, tendering, procurement and construction to completion. Work started as Construction Management and then converted to a guaranteed lump sum contract.
